Context and objectives
The general objective is to describe tropical forest architecture with the aim of incorporating the latter forest characteristic in a remote sensing based forest typology classification.

Expected scientific results
Texture image analyses were performed and led to a marked difference between the transects. From the multispectral SPOT data only the red band displayed a consistent trend with the different architecture parameters. A weak relation has been found between the crown surface and average height and the red SPOT bands.
